Description: The OJA VAWA Grants to Encourage Arrest Discretionary award for FFY 09 contains five sub-contracts. These sub-contract categories assist OJA in achieving GTEA goals and objectives. The funds available in this announcement are designated to the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) approved subcontractors for previously determined activities.

Anticipated Funding Amount: Total funding for this grant program is $539,690. Eligible agencies and the amount available to each are as follows:
- WI Dept. of Justice: $287,282
- Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault: $200,000
- American Indians Against Abuse: $5,000
- Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence: $9,908
- Milwaukee Sheriff’s Dept: $37,500
Match/Cost Sharing Requirement: There is no match requirement.
Eligibility: This application is limited to OVW-approved OJA contractors including Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal Litigation Unit, Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault, American Indians Against Abuse, Wisconsin Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Milwaukee Sheriff’s Department
Eligible Expenses: All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, recoupment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties. Funding may be used for personnel, employee benefits, travel (including training), supplies and operating expenses, consultants/contractual and other.
